    Key Role :Manages over all activities, co-ordination and execution for QA/QC activities, technical supports to process, product related, Steel Melting, Chemical Lab, Metallurgical control, Mechanical Lab, Rolling mill, Section Mill, Continuous cast machine, Hot-charging, AOD Process, Implementing ISO/IEC , ISO , Handling customer complaints, Root cause analysis for non-conformity/audit points through brain storming, Pareto analysis 80/20 rules, Implementing Kaizen for waste elimination, monitoring total losses trend, evaluating supplier performance, monitoring customer satisfaction level, Conducting technical training for national and expatriate, Monitoring QA/QC instruments calibration, Monitoring validation test method with external bodies & Conducting Internal Quality audit.

    Planning and budgeting

    Cascade group quality strategy at a region/ country level and ensure optimal utilization of overall budget and financial performance of the quality control function - Establish, modify, implement and enforce Quality Control policies, procedures, specifications and testing methods to ensure alignment with, regulations, policies, plans, objectives and procedures.

    Quality Control

    Provide technical guidance to QC staff on test methods and relevant procedures and ensure timely completion of testing;

    Conduct internal trainings on a periodic basis to ensure understanding of quality assurance and control (including incoming raw material, process and product);

    Oversee timely generation and reporting of test results, review reports to identify recurring quality issues and conduct root cause analysis on losses;

    Oversee calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment and systems and ensure support of manufacturing operations through troubleshooting;

    Guide and review QC staff in quality checks, timely resolution of issues, including discrepancies, investigations, and implementation of preventive and corrective actions;

    Share periodic updates and data reports with Group Quality Auditor on recurring quality issues and RCA for the same;

    Conduct internal trainings for teams to ensure understanding of quality assurance and control (including incoming raw material, process and product);

    Technical Supports and solutions for production process, finished products, equipment related issues through on-line on daily basis;

    Evaluate and feedback to production dept in both capital and commercial steel the quality level and characteristics for raw material and final products;

    Interact with section heads quality engineers and technicians for all quality control activities on daily basis;

    Validate QA/QC test result accuracy with PT and inter-laboratory;

    Identify the risk for results error probability and severity and action.

    Liaising & regulatory affairs

    Oversee data, documentation, and laboratory processes are in a constant state of regulatory compliance and inspection readiness;

    Direct the review and approval of all applicable Quality Control documents and ensure update;

    Engage in proactive measures to promote a positive safety culture while ensuring all applicable Quality Control requirements are fulfilled in alignment with corporate policy and local legal requirements;

    Escalate any potential quality issues revealed during QC testing or processing of products, especially quality or regulatory issues with the potential to affect product quality or regulatory compliance;

    Researching and probing customer/In-house complaints regarding the quality of services, reports and systems and the timely conduct, analyzing the causes of such complaints;

    Ensures corrective and preventive actions are implemented to reduce and overcome low standards of performance;

    Co-ordination and implementation of QMS as per ISO/IEC & ISO system activity in the plant;

    Liaise with regulatory agencies and external sources regarding issues affecting product quality as QC and ensure the renewal of ISO certification;

    Liaison with external calibration body and Accreditation body SADCAS;

    Laison with Proficiency Testing (PT) Laboratory, Inter Laboratory and SGS team to validate the test results.

    Track team performance at an overall and individual level and provide support/ guidance required to ensure achievement of yearly plans;

    Manage effective resource allocation across different teams, enhance the capability quotient of team members and drive higher team engagement through appropriate HR interventions;

    Coordinate with expats and locals to ensure that local candidates are trained and promote knowledge sharing within the team;
