Key Responsibilities

As a Market Development Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Identifying and assessing market opportunities in Eastern and Southern Africa

• Conducting research and analysis to inform market development strategies

• Collaborating with stakeholders to design and implement market development initiatives

• Building and maintaining relationships with clients and stakeholders to promote business growth and development

• Providing technical assistance to clients to improve their business operations and competitiveness

• Developing and implementing projects that enhance investment conditions and support private sector development

• Working closely with IFC's investment and country teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities

• Analyzing financial and economic data to inform investment decisions

• Developing and managing project budgets and financial reports

• Coordinating with other stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of market development initiatives

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A Master's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field

• At least 12 years of experience in the financial sector, including 8 years in commercial banking or consulting services

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely

• Strong understanding of market development principles and practices

• Proven track record of successfully designing and implementing market development initiatives

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with fluency in English and Portuguese required

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000, depending on qualifications and experience. IFC offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid leave.
