    Position Summary

    Purpose


    The primary role of the Assembly Technician Helper is to assis t in product assembly, product handling / spooling operations as well as maintenance of all assembly tooling and equipment.

    This position is based in the Viana Manufacturing Facility; however, it will require travel to other " On - shore " facilities and could require infrequent travel to "Offshore / Quayside Locations".

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Functions


    ESSENTIAL

    • Participate in the HSE Observation Program
    • Clean work area, tools and equipment and perform other routine du ti es associated with day to day operations and equipment upkeep,
    • Assist Assembly Technicians in job setup, as per Lead Assembly Technician or Assembly Supervisor direction.
    • Complete and submit Daily Time Tickets to Assembly Supervisor .
    • Assist Assembly Technicians i n assembly , handling, spooling of products.
    • Assist Assembly Technicians in the Maintenance of Equipment and Tooling in the as sembly Areas.
    • Complete required training on-line in Learning Management System.
    • Gains proficiency in the use of tools and equipment .
    • Develops and displays professio nal communication skills,

    ADDITIONAL
    Assist SCM in loading and unloading of a ll equipment.

    Assist the Facilities Group with general upkeep of the facilities.

    Attend Toolbox Talks and Safety Meetings as well as assist the Assembly Team to create JSEAs as required .


    May directly interface with Clients or management during the Assembly process or during a project, process, or safety audit; you must be able to communicate effectively and maintain the professionalism.

    Other duties as assigned.

    This position has NO supervisory responsibilities

    Reporting Relationship


    • Reports to Assembly Supervisor
    May take directions from Lead Assembly or Lead Test Technicians

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED

    • Basic knowledge of Hand and Power Tools
    • Willingness to learn and ab le to work " Overtime" as required
    • Willingness to travel for work or to wo rk " Offshore or Quayside" as required

    DESIRED

    • Kno wl edge of basic hydraulic control systems
    • Mechanically Inclined

    Ability to work in a team environment, remaining attentive to ideas, recognizing responsibilities, and actively participating with others to accomplish assignments an d achieve desired goals.

    Working Conditions

    This position is considered ONSHORE WORK which is characterized as follows.


    • Outdoors and i ndoors, day and night, infrequently over/near water.
    • Requires working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment.
    • Frequently the humidity is above 90%, noise is over 85 decibels and the light is intense/glare.
    • Potential exposure to open fire/flames/sparks.
    • Constant exposure to airborne dust fumes, and gases,
    • Work surface is stable, height is elevated.
    • Requires working outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions.
    • Requires working in cramped workspaces and getting into awkward positions.
