    _Based out of Solar Turbines Luanda Office in Angola, provides facility and field operational Health Safety, Security Environmental leadership, and support.

    _


    _Assists in the development and implementation of HSSE policies and procedures thus contributing to employee health, safety and welfare and company performance by eliminating or reducing risk exposure, in alignment with legislation and Solar Turbines core values and goals.

    _


    Salary Grade will depend on the experience of the selected candidate.


    The incumbent reports to the regional HSSE manager and works closely with HSSE personnel based within the EAME South region.

    Acts as the primary HSSE focal point within the assigned districts to support the regional and district service managers, facility managers, medical, and support personnel.

    consults with corporate HSSE professionals to coordinate and implement HSSE programs.


    International and domestic travel is required on a regular basis to conduct safety and security assessments on industrial sites in the energy or power generation industry to support Solar Turbines field operations.

    As a result, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn on site.


    Must be able to provide emergency response cover in the event of an emergency and act as the emergency response coordinator with the assigned district.

    Must demonstrate an elevated level of sensitivity and good business judgment.

    Must be comfortable in working in a highly interactive team environment with the ability to manage multiple project priorities and deadlines.

    Must be available to respond effectively to emergency situations and or security threats.


    Accountabilities:

    • Provide day to day management of HSSE related matters within the assigned district.
    • Provide expert HSSE advise to management.
    • Evaluate current HSSE related policies and procedures and provide recommendations for improvement.
    • Monitor and advise management on district security developments.
    • Monitor and provide guidance ensuring compliance on travel safety and security.
    • Coordinate the district emergency management team.
    • Maintain and review HSSE legal register for assigned districts.
    • Contractor management.
    • Identifying employee HSSE critical skills necessary to meet competency and compliance standards.
    • Implement and provide HSSE training coaching to employees as required.
    • Provide support for HSSE program initiatives.
    • Provide support in incident investigations.
    • Report to management on HSSE performance.
    • Conduct internal HSSE audits as required.
    • Travel to other Solar locations within the region as required to conduct training, assessments.
    • Travel to customer sites and conduct site surveys and assessments.
    • Develop HSSE plans for customer locations and sites.
    • Review customer HSSE programs.

    Qualifications and experience:

    • B S degree in health safety security and environment related discipline (preferred)
    • Diploma in health and safety related discipline.
    • English and Angolan speaking. Additional language skills would be an advantage (Spanish, French, Italian, Arabic).
    • The position requires knowledge of local and state safety related laws, regulations, and standards
    • NEBOSH International General Certificate (or equivalent).
    • Experience in Oil & Gas and Power Generation industry.
    • Emergency management experience.
    • Security management experience.
    • ISO 45001 Lead auditor certified.
    • TapRooT / Kelvin-TOPSET Root Cause Analysis training.
    • Membership within a HSSE related professional body (IOSH/IISRM).
    • Possess effective written, oral and presentation skills.
    • Computer based skills.
