Job Summary

Oversee the Crane Crew and coordinate the daily handling and distribution of materials as well as cargo loading and unloading.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for own safety as well as that of the crew.
  
• Attend and participate in all pre-tour, post tour and weekly safety meetings.
  
• Demonstrate and Promote Safety Leadership for team members.
  
• Inspect and train crane crew to inspect safety apparatus and equipment.
  
• Understands and adheres to correct lock-out, tag-out procedures.
  
• Ensure all lifts are within load limits of equipment and are correctly rigged, and lifting gear is properly color coded prior to use.
  
• Assist in the orientation and training of new Roustabouts regarding helicopter safety, high noise area safety, appliance use, lifeboat assignment, general alarm, etc.
  
• Assist in organizing, planning and monitoring the work of the crane crew.
  
• Oversee the inspection of slings, cables, straps and the crane structure prior to lifting operations.
  
• Oversee preventive maintenance as required to ensure safe and continual service of the cranes.
  
• Assist in corporate and regulatory body inspections.
  
• Maintain up to date crane record books.
  
• Monitors sea and weather conditions for safe loading and unloading.
  
  

  Qualifications / Experience

  • High School diploma
    
  • Two (2) or more years as a certified Crane Operator with prior offshore experience preferred.
    
  • Strong preference for candidates with offshore experience in AHC/KBC crane operations
    
  • Effective English communication skills (spoken and written).
