    Upstream Investment Officer

    IFC is seeking an Upstream Investment Officer to support strategic priorities for the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) department of the Eastern and Southern Africa region.

    The UIO will be responsible for the origination, design, and delivery of projects that enable investment opportunities, enhance investment outcomes, and improve investment conditions. The position requires a minimum of 12 years of experience working in the financial sector, with excellent track records in project management, business development, and financial analysis.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead the identification and assessment of Upstream opportunities in Eastern and Southern Africa
    • Provide quality research and analysis for market and opportunity creation
    • Contribute to sector-specific data analysis and market scoping
    • Work with the World Bank to identify and implement sector and regulatory reforms
    • Lead the design, development, and implementation of high-quality Upstream initiatives and interventions

    Requirements:

    • Masters degree in Business, Economics, Finance, International Development, or related fields
    • Demonstrated experience of at least 12 years in the financial sector
    • Excellent leadership skills, team builder, with a demonstrated track record of managing teams on complex projects and programs
    • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and confidently, and credibly represent IFC with clients and stakeholders
    • Fluency in English and Portuguese required

    Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 per year
