    Job Description

    Job Title: Local Procurement Coordinator

    Company: Open Mind

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Local Procurement Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the day-to-day operations of receiving, warehousing, and distribution of goods through our Distribution Centre.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Warehouse Operations: Ensure that warehouse processes are running smoothly and promptly, and manage, control, and coordinate the Logistics department's activities to meet departmental objectives.
    • Importation Department: Manage the Importation department and processes to ensure that goods are landed, released, and transported to warehouses as scheduled.
    • Supplier Network: Build a network of suppliers and providers that can provide products and materials to the Company that meet expected costs, quality, and availability.
    • Stock Management: Manage stock control procedures, reconcile physical stock with information held on the data storage system, and plan for upcoming purchases.
    • Staff Management: Coordinate and plan staff schedules, oversee the implementation of staff work routines, and engage with key suppliers to resolve problems with the timeliness or quality of supplies.
    • Planning and Forecasting: Produce annual, quarterly, and monthly stock forecasts, plan orders to address seasonal sales, and plan documentation and arrange official payments to prepare for timeous release of shipments.

    Requirements:

    • Education and Experience: Bachelor degree in Business, 4 years experience in sales and/or supply chain, and an understanding of finance.
    • Language Skills: Fluent English and basic Portuguese, with the ability to read and write.

    Technical Competencies:

    • MS Office: Develop and maintain spreadsheets and generate reports.
    • Management Skills: Manage, control, and coordinate the Logistics department's activities.
    • Finance: An understanding of finance would be advantageous.

    Behavioural Competencies:

    • Analytical Thinking: Analyze previous year purchases and collect the needs of the current year.
    • Learning: Engage with key suppliers to resolve problems with the timeliness or quality of supplies.
    • Communication: Liaise with transport companies to meet customer expectations.
    • Leading and Motivating Others: Coordinate and plan staff schedules.
    • Teamwork and Collaboration: Work with the Logistics department to meet departmental objectives.
    • Drive for Quality and Cost: Manage stock control procedures and reconcile physical stock with information held on the data storage system.
    • Results Orientation: Meet departmental objectives and ensure that warehouse processes are running smoothly and promptly.
