    The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, is seeking an Upstream Investment Officer (UIO) to support strategic priorities for the FIG department in Eastern and Southern Africa.

    Job Summary:

    We are looking for a highly experienced professional with at least 12 years of experience in the financial sector to lead the identification and assessment of upstream opportunities, provide quality research and analysis, contribute to sector-specific data analysis, and work with the World Bank to identify and implement sector and regulatory reforms.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead the identification and assessment of upstream opportunities in Eastern and Southern Africa
    • Provide quality research and analysis for market and opportunity creation
    • Contribute to sector-specific data analysis and market scoping
    • Work with the World Bank to identify and implement sector and regulatory reforms
    • Lead the design, development, and implementation of high-quality upstream initiatives and interventions
    • Collaborate with stakeholders and build partnerships to enable delivery of upstream and investment projects

    Requirements:

    • A master's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, International Development, or related fields
    • At least 12 years of experience in the financial sector, with 8 years in Commercial Banking or related consulting services or digital financial services
    • Excellent track record in origination, design, implementation, management, oversight, and monitoring of technical assistance and investment projects
    • Strong understanding of international best practices and global trends in the banking industry
    • Fluency in English and Portuguese
